Boutique Hotel

DESIGN OBJECTIVE

The main idea was to design  a Boutique Hotel  which will focus on restaurant and dining area.

RATIONALE

The reason of this project is to provide all the luxury services of a Boutique Hotel, where quests can enjoy delicious foodat the Hotel Restaurant and watch live Michelin chef while waiting for their food to be served.

In addition, visitors can go to the spa area for massage,

sauna , steam bath  and to relax at the area of Spa.

They can also relax at their room where they can have Jacques , watch television, look at various sites on the internet or have a snack or drink at the mini bar of their room.

Finally, they can visit the Roof Bar to have a drink, listen to music and watch the city view.

Resort by the sea

‘Intimate green architecture’

Our entry (cooperative with Soteria Panagi Architect office) in the competition 'in a double box' is about a part of a bar-restaurant which extends outdoors and is located in a resort by the sea.
The concept is about the 'intimate green architecture' where the green is the key element in the space where visitors feel cozy. Specifically, the inspiration was the Greek landscape meaning, the green valleys, the sea, and the sea birds.
Through research on the wing movements of sea birds, we developed
'dynamic movement lines' to translate them into architectural elements. The
'dynamic movement lines' mean freedom, power, and serenity where visitors
get these feelings.
The landscape of a place must adopt the hotel. The visitor should fully
experience the uniqueness of a place and be part of it. For us, the unexpected
would be the dynamic movements of the sea birds translated into canopies and
in combination with the led strips to create an atmospheric bar restaurant.
As you could view on the Figure 1 describes the movement condition of the sea
bird when is on the land, and is translated into the green vertical wall of the bar
restaurant. Furthermore, figure 2 describes the movement of a sea bird when
flies and feels freedom and serenity. The 'dynamic movements' were translated
into the design of the ceiling of the indoor bar restaurant where both the timber
strips and the led strips emphasize the 3d movement. However, figure 3
describes the movement of a sea bird when takes off and feels power. The 3d
dynamic lines translated into the design of the ceiling of the outdoor restaurant.
Finally, the sea element has been used as a water strip on the floor
throughout the indoor and outdoor bar restaurant highlighting that the resort is
by the sea. Also, visitors should feel serenity whilst next to it.
